My Role: AI Programming & Character Animation
-
Programmed state-based enemy AI using Unity’s NavMesh system, including humanoid, zombie-like enemies and fast, spider-like creatures inspired by Half-Life 2's headcrabs
-
Developed a custom leap attack for the spider enemies, bypassing the limitations of NavMesh-based movement by temporarily disabling the agent, applying a physics-based jump, and reattaching to the NavMesh post-impact for seamless reintegration
-
Animated several enemy types and implemented all 3D models into the game, including character models and player weapons
-
Worked closely with a 3D artist to ensure animations were integrated correctly and contributed to a consistent, unsettling tone throughout the enemy design
Though the game remained unfinished, it was a valuable experience in solving practical AI challenges, animating horror-themed creatures, and collaborating in a distributed team setting.
